Clophosome®-A,negatively-chargedclodronateliposomes,offerssuperiorefficiencyofmacrophagedepletion.ClodronatemoleculesareencapsulatedinLUVliposomesforsuperioractivity,physicalandchemicalstABIlity,andconvenienceofuse.Itisformulatedtoanexceptionallyhighclodronate/lipidratio.FreeclodronateiscleanedoutandtheLiposomalencapsulationefficiencyofclodronateismorethan90%.Clophosomeliposomesremainhomogenousevenafterlongtermstorageinfridge.Itisnotviscousandeasytoinjectevenwithfineneedles.Itismanufacturedsterileforlongtermshelf-life.
Theproductissuitablefordosingwithvariousroutesincludingintravenous,intraperitoneal,subcutaneous,intranasal,intratrachealandetc.Wehaveachieved>90%depletioninsplenicmacrophages(redpulpmacrophages)24hoursafterasingle0.2mLintravenousinjection.Astartingdoseof0.15-2mL(i.v.ori.p.)for20-25ganimalbodyweightisrecommendedforgoodconsistencyinmacrophagedepletion.Optimizationisrecommendedforspecificapplications.
